.     Create a revision timetable for your mock revision and stick to this timetable

a.      Ensure your timetable includes as many breaks as possible, e.g. a 5 minute break every 30 minutes
See example or check out the internet for other examples


b.     Ensure you study very small sub-topics (bitesize) often during these session, for instance reviewing your key concepts for Substance abuse or reviewing mind maps on key theories of green crime
Corporate Crime
Offences committed by large companies, or by individuals on behalf of large companies, which directly profit the company rather than individuals.
A set of values, attitudes and behaviour in opposition to the main aims of a school.
Behaviour which is against the criminal law – law-breaking.

c.      Ensure your revision is structured with active revision, not just reading, but making active notes, creating flash cards, planning essays, answering short mark questions or evaluating paragraphs.

d.     Exam practice in timed conditions.

4 Mock Exam Tips 2


1.    Create key concept diaries for all of your subjects, so that you are able to define any key terms that you will need to discuss in your essays.

2. Create key study sheets of key studies for subjects such as Psychology or Sociology and for History create historical timelines for the key periods you are examining.

3. Create essay plans for all your topics, using a planning approach such as the hamburger analogy, PEEL, argument A/argument B or football match approach.

4. Practice your exam technique in timed conditions sticking to your timing for all your 
topics...

4 Mock Exam Tips 1

Many students face mock exams with fear and trepidation.




However a positive mental attitude and exam preparation can make all the difference.  Over the next few days I will give you some mock exam preparation tips which should support your revision, leave you feeling calm and relaxed, allow you to shine in your mock exam and demonstrate your knowledge effectively.

Here are a few tips ....




1.  They cannot ask you a question you don't know or haven't covered. So...
2.  Ensure you know the specification to the best of your abilities.
3. The textbook is good for initial learning... however now you need to use revision guides to support your learning and get an overview of the topic, exam practice and the exam structure.
4. You should use your revision time actively and reduce you class and independent notes down to revision flash/cue cards, mind maps, topic posters and evaluation grids (more on this tomorrow).
